4

The March of the Goblins event changes the usual Diablo 4 rhythm in a pretty noticeable way. You’re not just clearing packs and hoping for a lucky drop. You’re chasing spawns, forcing pressure, and turning every Treasure Goblin into a real payday. If you’re building up gold, mats, or better D4 items, this is the kind of event where a messy route can still work, but a planned one feels miles better.

Push Helltide Threat Faster
Helltides are still one of the easiest places to keep enemies coming. The trick is to lean into the Threat Level system instead of treating it like background noise. When you use a Shrine in a Helltide and pair it with the right seasonal node, such as Tainted Shrines, every kill starts doing more work. Threat climbs faster. Ambushes arrive sooner. Then the screen fills with elites, Cinders, and gear. It’s a bit chaotic, sure, but that’s the point. Dense zones in Kehjistan or similar packed areas are worth circling because you don’t waste time riding between empty spots.

Use Nightmare Dungeons For The Goblin Loop
Nightmare Dungeons are where the event starts to feel properly farmable. Once the War Plans system is opened up, players should look at the Nightmare Dungeon path and grab Greed is Good as soon as it makes sense. That node gives Treasure Goblins a chance to open a portal to the Goblins Retreat after they’re killed inside a Nightmare Dungeon. It won’t happen every time, and that’s fine. The loop is still strong because you’re earning glyph progress, experience, drops, and chances at the portal all in one run.

Don’t Ignore Event Rank Rewards
A lot of players rush the farming route and forget the event track, which is a mistake. The March of the Goblins ranks add value over time, especially when you start claiming the better caches. The Baron’s Gift is one of the big ones because the Baron’s Bag of Coin gives a clean burst of gold and also improves the event by raising the chance for extra Treasure Bags from goblins. That small bonus adds up. After twenty or thirty goblins, you’ll feel it. It’s not flashy build tech, but it’s the sort of thing that separates a decent farm from a really profitable one.

Keep The Pace And Build Around Speed
The whole setup works best when your character kills fast and moves without stalling. High Nightmare tiers are great, but only if you’re not crawling through them. Helltide ambushes are great too, but only if you can survive the pressure. Aim for a tier where elites melt quickly, goblins don’t escape, and your inventory fills before the run starts to drag. Players who want to compare upgrades or fill gaps with D4 items for sale should still focus on speed first, because during this event, more kills usually means more gold, more bags, and faster Paragon gains.
